Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on getkarl.io, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit getkarl.io, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Essential cookies are always set because the site cannot work without them; non-essential cookies (analytics) are only set after you accept. We remember your choice for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can change your decision at any time — see Managing your consent.
4. Third-party cookies
The analytics and embedded tools above are provided by third parties who may set cookies under their own policies. We do not control those cookies. A periodic cookie scan confirms the exact names and durations of any third-party cookies.
5. Managing your consent
- You can clear the “karl-consent-v1” entry in your browser's site data to be asked again on your next visit.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; note that some features may then not work as intended.
- For Google Analytics specifically, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
6. Cookie lifetime and storage
Durations are shown in the tables above. “Session” cookies are deleted when you close your browser; others persist for the period stated or until you delete them. Your consent choice itself is stored for 12 months.
7. Legal basis (PECR and UK GDPR)
We set non-essential cookies only with your consent, as required by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR. Personal data collected via cookies is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
